Peer Support Groups – 2026
OCD WA’s Peer Support Groups provide a safe, respectful, and stigma-free space for people affected by OCD to connect with others who truly understand. In 2026, we are offering regular facilitated peer support groups for:
People with Lived Experience of OCD
Supporters (Family, Partners, Friends)
These groups are designed to complement professional treatment—not replace it—and to reduce isolation through shared experience and mutual support.
People with Lived Experience of OCD
Fortnightly · Tuesdays · 6:30pm (AWST) · Online via Zoom
This facilitated peer support group is for adults* living with OCD.
The group offers a safe, non-judgemental space to connect with others who understand the lived reality of OCD. The focus is on shared experience, mutual support, and reducing isolation—not on therapy or clinical treatment.
Participants may choose to share as much or as little as they feel comfortable. Discussions may include:
The emotional impact of OCD
Navigating daily life and relationships
Stigma and self-understanding
Experiences with treatment
Building self-compassion and coping strategies
Groups are facilitated by trained peer facilitators, many with lived experience of OCD, and are delivered in line with OCD WA’s peer support guidelines.
Important Notes
This is a peer support group, not a replacement for professional treatment
No reassurance-giving, symptom comparison, or therapy is provided
Participants are encouraged to have appropriate clinical supports in place
*Over 18’s preferred, however over 16’s will be considered on an individual basis
