Peer Support Group – People with Lived Experience of OCD

Peer Support Group – People with Lived Experience of OCD

This facilitated peer support group is for adults living with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

These sessions provide a safe, respectful, and non-judgemental space to connect with others who understand the lived reality of OCD. The focus is on shared experience, mutual support, and reducing isolation—not on providing therapy or clinical advice.

Participants are welcome to share as much or as little as they feel comfortable. Discussion may include the emotional impact of OCD, navigating daily life, stigma, treatment experiences, and strategies for self-compassion and coping.

Groups are facilitated by trained peer facilitators, many with lived experience of OCD and run in line with OCD WA’s peer support guidelines.

Important notes
· This is a peer support group, not a replacement for professional treatment
· No reassurance-giving, symptom comparison, or therapy is provided
· Participants are encouraged to have appropriate clinical supports in place
